This Book Is Needed & Long Overdue

I have had the privilege of not only being a working actor, but knowing Marci for many years. However I am not being biased when I say that I am SO glad she wrote this book and she's done a magnificent job. It has been needed for a long time. I've personally tried to advise, instruct and help many actors trying to make their way in acting, especially for the camera. And there are many times when I myself need help. Marci has taken her years of experience and her profound desire to help actors and put a voice to it in this book.
I have already started to recommend this book. Marci not only tells the TRUTH, she tells it in such a way that you can really understand why "things are the way they are", what we do as actors that trips us up in the audition room, and most importantly - how to see the business as a whole, so you don't feel like a victim to it, but a part of it. Marci lifts the "fog of not knowing" so that we as actors can see that we are powerful, needed and an essential part of the process. Basically, she will show you that our job in the room is to be present, real and to GET OUT OF OUR OWN WAY.

love marci, love the book

I've taken class from Marci, and she's such a lovely person with helpful advice, and such a kind spirit. Her book is an extension of who she is and her positive message. She reiterates things that are good for actors to keep in the forefront of their minds to stay a happy and productive actor and human being!

Marci Phillips has some of the most nuanced, thoughtful, and intelligent things to say about the actor's journey.
I Cannot recommend this book enough for any actor, teacher, or for anyone that has anything to do with art.
